Energy Efficiency and Load Management Services

Armed with the information captured through the Bill Outsourcing information system and the customer's own knowledge of its facilities, additional cost reductions through the installation of cost-effective energy efficiency or load management measures can be undertaken. Energysolve will help identify these opportunities. Energysolve works with its affiliated company, EnergySolve Demand Response LLC to implement identified projects the customer desires.

Implementation may involve project management, financing (on- or off-balance sheet), or outsourcing (i.e., taking over the energy function for the customer). EnergySolve Demand Response provides the customer the opportunity to outsource energy efficiency and load management services.  EnergySolve Demand Response is currently focusing on several innovative energy efficiency measures that are based upon revolutionary wireless dimmable T-5 fluorescent lighting technology that EnergySolve Demand Response has been testing for the manufacturer, Westinghouse Light Management System.

Westinghouse T-5 Highbay Fixture

The first technology is a wirelessly dimmable T-5HO (High Output) 4 lamp highbay fixture (T-5 Highbay) with custom designed reflectors that replaces High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting, particularly Metal Halide lighting, in warehouses and industrial facilities.  This T-5 Highbay saves 50% of the energy before dimming and occupancy sensor savings are taken into account (up to an additional 30% savings with dimming and occupancy sensors).  Click here to view the Westinghouse LMS brochure relating to its T-5 Highbays.

Westinghouse RetroluxTM  T-5 Fixture

The second technology is the RetroluxTM T-5 fluorescent lamp with a holster, containing an electronic dimmable ballast, that converts standard shorter T-5 lamp technology to the exact T-12 and T-8 length.  It replaces 4 T-12 fluorescent lamps with 2 T-5 lamps and electronic ballasts that are wirelessly dimmable.  The T-12 lamps are removed and the T-5 holster and lamp units are simply snapped into the existing fixture sockets.  There is no need to remove the existing ballast or provide any additional connections to the power supply.  The electronic ballast receives its power through the existing ballast.  If the existing ballast fails, the ballast wires are snipped and the power is then routed directly to the existing lamp sockets.  Click here to view the Westinghouse LMS brochure relating to its RetroluxTM T-5 product.

Wireless Internet/Intranet Zoning and Dimming

The Westinghouse LMS fixtures utilize wireless dimming and zoning technology – that is, there is no fixture-to-fixture daisy-chain wiring whatsoever.  The fixture’s dimming and zoning functionality can be controlled via a user-friendly interface through any computer, from any place in the world and the fixtures can be dimmed and zoned through wireless controls accessed by the Internet or Intranet (Local Area Network – LAN).  The fixtures can also be dimmed through wireless preset features based on light levels (using light sensors), auto-scheduling features, and wireless occupancy sensors. The system zoning offers control over a multi-facility complex, a whole building, a specific floor, an office or room on a specific floor, or just one single fixture. EnergySolve Demand Response LLC - Value Proposition

EnergySolve Demand Response will install these technologies in a customer’s facilities free of charge and will operate and maintain these systems for the customers, including re-lamping the fixtures.  It will charge the customer a usage fee that is between 50% to 70% of the savings being realized by the customer (depending on the retail rate and the availability of rebates or incentives).  After a specified period, the customer can buy the fixtures at fair market value.  This approach takes all the risk away from the customer using a new technology and brings significant dollars to its bottom line.

Demand Response

EnergySolve Demand Response also works with customers to set up protocols in their facilities that control various energy uses when energy prices reach certain levels.  The saved energy is sold to the utility or an Independent System Operator (ISO).  Energysolve Demand Response communicates the prices to the facility and triggers the protocols. Energysolve Demand Responses' expertise in measurement and monitoring savings is used in conjunction with the Bill Outsourcing platform to document the savings and present that documentation to the appropriate entity for payment.

Another company affiliated with EnergySolve, EnergySolve Management Services, provides electric distribution upgrades and onsite generation projects. EnergySolve Management Services can also generate emission reduction credits from measured energy savings.
